Welcome to How to Climb a Mountain, the website of Simon Pearce, author of How to Climb a Mountain.

This page explains how orders work, your rights as a customer and how your personal information is handled.

1. Ordering and Payment

Books are sold directly by Simon Pearce.

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP). Delivery charges are shown before you complete your purchase.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Full payment card details are not stored on this website.

You will receive a confirmation email when you place an order.

2. Delivery

Orders are dispatched using Royal Mail.

Delivery charges are displayed at checkout. Orders are normally dispatched promptly but delivery times may vary.

Unless otherwise agreed, your order will be delivered within 30 days.

If your book hasn’t arrived or there’s a problem with delivery please get in touch.

3. Returns and Refunds

Every book is personally signed and dedicated to the buyer. As these are personalised products they cannot be returned or refunded simply because you’ve changed your mind.

If your book arrives damaged, is faulty or isn’t what you ordered please get in touch. A replacement or refund will be arranged in accordance with your statutory rights.

This policy does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

4. Your Privacy

Your privacy is important. Personal information is only collected where needed to operate this website and fulfil orders.

This may include your name, email address, delivery address, billing address, telephone number and order details.

Your information is used to:

  • Process payments and deliver your order.

  • Respond to enquiries and provide customer support.

  • Maintain financial records as required by law.

  • Keep the website secure and prevent fraud.

Order information is processed to fulfil the contract with you. Other information may be processed where necessary to meet legal obligations or for legitimate business interests such as customer support and fraud prevention.

Trusted service providers including WooCommerce, Stripe, the website hosting provider and Royal Mail may process information where necessary.

Your personal information is never sold.

Customer information is kept only for as long as necessary. Financial records are retained for the periods required by law.

You have the right to request access to your personal information and ask for inaccurate details to be corrected. You may also request deletion or object to certain uses where UK data protection law allows.
